Case of coronavirus transmitted between humans confirmed in UK

A man is in intensive care in Birmingham after he was infected with a new type of respiratory virus from his father.

It is thought to be the first confirmed example of the new coronavirus being passed from person to person anywhere in the world.

The virus can cause pneumonia and organ failure.

However, officials say the threat to the whole population remains very low.
