Child heart surgery at Leeds had to stop, says NHS boss
Children's heart surgery has been suspended at a hospital in Leeds because of concerns about the number of deaths there.
The medical director of the NHS in England Sir Bruce Keogh said there was "clear blue water" between the death rate at Leeds General Infirmary and other hospitals.
He conceded the timing, just 24 hours after a High Court ruling kept the unit open, was "embarrassing - and a row has broken out about how the information came to be released.
