The challenge of overcoming MMR vaccine fears

The Department of Health is preparing a stockpile of Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccines in the event of a measles outbreak in Swansea spreading.

Experts have told BBC Newsnight the infection is likely to be carried across the UK.

In England alone, around one million children are thought to be unprotected.

Meanwhile the NHS in Scotland is offering older children the chance to get vaccinated.

Newsnight's Science editor Susan Watts reports on the challenge of overcoming public fears about the MMR jab.
