Jeremy Hunt: 'GPs must be accountable for out-of-hours care'

Health secretary Jeremy Hunt has deflected criticism from the British Medical Association (BMA) over his plans to improve out-of-hours care.

BMA GP chairman Dr Laurence Buckman accused Mr Hunt of being more interested in bashing doctors and spouting "rubbish".

But Mr Hunt said the public had lost confidence with the system - provided now largely by agencies.
