A&E waiting times: 'Mum's dignity was not preserved'

Long waiting times at A&E are having a significant impact on patients, one relative has claimed.

Angela Wilson from Headingly has taken her 86-year-old mother, Eva Ward, to A&E six times since October. On one occasion she waited nine hours to be seen.

Research by the King's Fund suggests that the NHS in England missed its A&E waiting time target in the first three months of 2013 - up 39% on the similar period in 2012, the worst performance for nine years.
