Lord Carlile says no case for assisted suicide law

Campaigners have lost their appeal at the UK's highest court over the right to die but say they are hopeful that change will come.

Justices ruled against Paul Lamb and Jane Nicklinson by seven to two.

Liberal Democrat peer Lord Carlile said that there was no case for a law allowing assisted suicide because the UK offers "the best palliative care in the world".
