NHS tests patient monitoring patch

A patch the size of a plaster is to be tested by the NHS as a new way of continuously monitoring a patient's heart rate, breathing and temperature.

Independent experts say the system could free nurses up from routine checks, allowing them to concentrate on other tasks.

But the Royal College of Nursing says there is no substitute for having enough staff.
