Public health England: Ebola risk to UK 'low'
Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond has said that the Ebola outbreak in West Africa is "a threat" the UK must respond to - and announced that he will chair an emergency Cobra meeting about the virus on Wednesday.
Dr Paul Cosford from Public Health England described the situation abroad as "very worrying" but suggested that the level of risk to people in the UK was low.
He said established systems were in place to make sure that people were "tested appropriately" if there was any cause for concern - and that facilities were available to isolate and treat individuals in the "unlikely eventuality" it was necessary to do so.
