DNA project 'to make UK world genetic research leader'

A pioneering project which aims to revolutionise medical treatment is getting under way.

The aim is to map 100,000 complete DNA codes in the hope of better understanding and combating cancer and rare diseases.

UK Prime Minister David Cameron wants the country to be a world leader in genetic research.
