British Ebola patient William Pooley on his lowest point

The first British person to contract Ebola during the outbreak in West Africa has been discharged from hospital after making a full recovery.

William Pooley, 29, was treated in a special isolation unit at the Royal Free Hospital in London after contracting Ebola in Sierra Leone.

Mr Pooley was given the experimental drug ZMapp and he praised the "world class" care at the hospital.

Speaking at a news conference, he said his lowest point was the thought of telling his parents he had contracted Ebola.
