Advice on secret filming in care homes offered to families

For the first time guidance is being issued on the use of hidden cameras which monitor the care of people who are elderly and vulnerable.

The regulator, the Care Quality Commission, has produced a pamphlet that sets out what worried relatives need to consider.

Care home owners say they fear the use of cameras risks undermining the trust between families and care workers.
