Fair price call for elderly home care

Only one in seven local authorities in the UK are paying a fair price for home care for the elderly, a survey by the UK Homecare Association has claimed.

The organisation warned that low prices can result in poor terms and conditions for carers.

About 500,000 people rely on the support, which includes help with washing and dressing.
