Clarke Carlisle: 'Sport must take responsibility for mental health'

A former Premier League footballer who attempted to kill himself says that sport's governing bodies need to accept responsibility for dealing with mental health issues.

Clarke Carlisle, who had played for QPR, Burnley and England under-21s, was struck down by a lorry on the A64 in December 2014.

He told BBC Newsnight's Emily Maitlis that the responsibility of dealing with mental health has been "passed from pillar to post" by sporting organisations.
