Mental health crisis care 'inadequate', says CQC

Services for those needing urgent psychiatric help in England have been criticised as "completely unacceptable" by the Care Quality Commission.

In its first ever review of mental health crisis care, the regulator found that 42% of patients did not get the help they needed.

Its report also highlighted what it described as a "lack of compassion" from A&E staff when treating people with psychiatric problems.
