Exercise helps cut hospital staff sickness

Figures to be published on Wednesday will show sickness rates in the NHS in England.

Even though they have improved a little in recent years, they have still been much higher than in the rest of the economy.

As well as physical issues, mental issues such as stress are a frequent reason for staff being off sick.

Liverpool's Walton Centre has managed to reduce staff sickness rates by providing exercise and activity clubs.
