Recruiting overseas nurses "distracting and expensive'

Recruiting large numbers of foreign nurses is "distracting, frustrating and expensive", according to the head of Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

Dr Keith McNeil urged officials to figure out what healthcare trusts required and improve UK recruitment.

According to the UK nursing regulator, recruitment of staff from abroad is increasing, mostly from within the European Union.
