NHS cyber-attack: 'Trusts will activate silver command'

At least 16 NHS organisations across England including hospitals are facing disruption after their computer systems were affected by a cyber-attack.

A central London health authority which manages five large hospitals including Bart's and The Royal London, has activated a major incident plan.

Saffron Cordery, director of policy and strategy at NHS Providers which represents NHS trusts told BBC Radio 4's PM programme that affected hospitals are advising people to contact other services depending on the seriousness of their condition.
