100 Women: My brush with the retoucher

Airbrushing has long been a part of the fashion and magazine industries, with skin smoothed and blemishes artfully removed for effect.

With the advent of high-resolution digital images, though, the level of detail captured can easily highlight imperfections on even the most natural beauty.

That means retouching has become as much a necessity as a luxury - and can prompt image-conscious celebrities to demand ever-more drastic changes.

In an effort to understand the art of airbrushing, the BBC's Tulip Mazumdar asked London-based fashion photographer Sarah Brimley to demonstrate some of the industry's more extreme retouching techniques.
