Photographer reflects the changing face of Asian cities

Asian cities are some of the most rapidly changing in the world.

Nowhere is this more true than in Singapore, where buildings are regularly demolished and rebuilt, redrawing the skyline.

That makes the region the perfect setting for an artist intent on highlighting the impact of time and the impermanence of the world around us.

Photographer Marcel Heijnen was born in the Netherlands, but has made Asia his home for more than two decades.

He told BBC News how the quickly evolving cityscapes inspired his work.

Produced by Ali Moore.

Real Time is a series for the BBC News website in which ordinary people tell their own extraordinary stories.
