Taxidermist's tale: One man's devotion to preserving animals

Taxidermy is enjoying a something of a comeback and has slowly become fashionable again, largely because of an interest from artists and interior designers.

George Jamieson developed his interest in taxidermy as a schoolboy.

Although having no desire to hunt or shoot animals himself, he found it a shame to leave beautiful birds and animals lying where they had died.

George has practiced the craft for more than 40 years, but says traditional skills can quickly be lost.

BBC News visited George at his studio in Edinburgh.
