How do you study the contents of a 400-year-old box if you can't open it?

A silver box was found inside the grave of an early American colonist at Jamestown, but it was sealed shut.

Archaeologists used CT scans to map what was inside and used 3-D printing to physically study the objects - all without opening the box.
