The moment my dinghy sank in the Med - on video
Hassan, an English teacher who had been tortured in Syria, knew that crossing the Mediterranean to reach Europe would be dangerous.

It did happen to him though - and he filmed as smugglers put him on an overcrowded rubber dinghy that sank between Turkey and Greece.
Exodus: Our Journey To Europe is broadcast on BBC Two at 21:00 on Monday 11, Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 July. Catch up here.
