ISS crew on living in space, 50 years since Gagarin

The crew on board the International Space Station has spoken about what living and working in orbit is like, 50 years to the day from the first manned spaceflight.

Commander Dmitry Kondratyev said he felt the portrait of Yuri Gagarin floating next to the crew symbolised the achievement of "humankind at large".

Nasa's Cady Coleman said her 10-year-old son's classmates thought in was perfectly normal for his mother to call home from space to help with his homework.

Meanwhile Esa astronaut Paulo Nespoli commented on how the Earth looked different every time he sees it through the station's windows.
