Voyager: Hear the sound of the solar winds

Hear the solar winds, as captured by the Voyager 1 spacecraft, on its journey to the edge of our Solar System.

The spacecraft sent this data back to Earth in 2004, nearly 30 years after its launch, as it approached an outer part of the Solar System called the termination shock.

At the termination shock the solar winds slow down as they hit turbulence originating from beyond our Solar System.

This recording has been looped, as the original recording is only 6 seconds long.
