Winter floods: MPs criticise funding priorities
More money should be spent on flood defences to avoid a repeat of the devastation caused earlier this year, say MPs.
Members of the all-party Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Efra) select committee said funding for clearing rivers and routine dredging was at a "bare minimum".
Record levels of rain fell on parts of England and Wales during last winter - the wettest in over 200 years.
