Hub helps families track elderly relatives' health

US start-up OnKol has developed a device that enables the family and carers of elderly relatives to track their health data remotely.

The OnKol hub connects wirelessly to devices such as blood pressure monitors and home security systems and can automatically share data with family members by text and email.

It also tracks any calls the user makes and can raise the alarm in the event of an emergency.

BBC Click's Stephen Beckett spoke to Erich Jacobs, the company's CEO, about how he hopes the system will allow people to live independently for longer.
