BBC to give one million mini-computers to schoolchildren

The BBC is to give away one million mini-computers to schoolchildren as part of a drive to improve the UK's digital skills.

The computer coding device, called a Micro Bit, will be given to all 11-year olds starting school in the autumn term.

The BBC is teaming up with around 50 organisations, and will enlist the help of some of the BBC's best known programmes, including Dr Who and EastEnders.
