Matthew Weiner: TV fans bombarded by irritating ads

The creator of the hit US TV series Mad Men says TV adverts have become an irritation to viewers who are "bombarded" during prime time.

The multi award-winning Mad Men finished a seven year run in May 2015, and was based around a US advertising agency and set in the 1960s.

Matthew Weiner told BBC Click's Dan Simmons that people were being "driven away" from advertisers' messages because there were too many of them, even on subscription-based television services.
