Former M15 head: Iraq war 'radicalised a generation'

The former head of MI5 has said the Iraq invasion "undoubtedly increased" the level of terrorist threat to the UK.

Giving evidence to the Iraq inquiry, Baroness Manningham-Buller said that a year after the invasion, M15 was "swamped" by leads about terrorist threats to the UK.

As a result of this, she said M15 was not "surprised" that British citizens were involved in the 7/7 attacks on London.
