HMS Ark Royal dockside in Portsmouth

The Royal Navy's flagship, HMS Ark Royal, will be scrapped almost immediately as part of the government's defence cuts.

The ship, which celebrated its silver jubilee in July of this year, was originally supposed to be decommissioned in 2014.

But her imminent demise raises questions for her crew and the thousands of people who rely on the Navy for work in and around her home base of Portsmouth.
