Paul and Rachel Chandler expected to return to UK

Paul and Rachel Chandler, the British couple held for more than a year by Somali pirates, are expected to return to the UK soon - possibly within the next 24 hours.

They were freed yesterday, reportedly for a ransom of about £620,000.

But the couple, who are now in Kenya, are having to come to terms with the news that Mr Chandler's father died while they were being held.
