'Worst is over, but expect more flooding in the future'
Heavy rain and gale force winds caused serious flooding overnight in parts of Cornwall, trapping scores of people in their homes and cars, more than a hundred houses had to be evacuated.
The risk of further flooding has reduced due to dry weather on Wednesday afternoon, but the situation will be monitored closely as more rain is forecast.
Phil Rothwell, Head of Flood Planning and Reporting at the Environment Agency, told the BBC we should expect more incidents like this with poor drainage and the onset of climate change.
