Widespread ice and snow is set to return to the UK

Temperatures are plummeting across the UK with widespread ice and snow set to return, according to weather forecasters.

Met Office warnings are in place throughout the country and up to 20cm (8in) of snow could fall in parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The BBC's Tomasz Schafernaker explains that ice would make driving "very dangerous".
