Campaign group 'sad' at sex offenders law

Lyn Costello from Mothers Against Murder And Aggression has said it is ''very sad'' that sex offenders registered for life in England and Wales are to be given the right to appeal so they can have their name removed.

The government is making the change after it lost a case last year in the Supreme Court - when judges ruled that offenders' human rights were being infringed.

Only individuals sentenced to more than 30 months for a sex-related crime are currently placed on the register for life.
