RAF Tornados abort mission in Libya

The Ministry of Defence has said British armed forces aborted a mission against Col Gaddafi's forces in Libya

RAF Tornados had approached a target but decided not to launch their weapons because there were civilians in the area.

The BBC's Mike Cartwright said the jets returned to RAF Marham in Norfolk despite reports they were going to a base in Italy.
