Obamas arrive early for state visit

US President Barack Obama has arrived in the UK ahead of a two-day state visit.

The White House took the decision to fly the president, together with First Lady Michelle Obama, from Ireland to London early to avoid the risk of volcanic ash forcing cancellation of his entire programme.
