Baby Peter: Sharon Shoesmith wins sacking appeal

The former head of children's services in Haringey has said she is "very relieved" to have won an appeal in the High Court against her sacking.

Sharon Shoesmith was in charge of the department at the time of the Baby Peter case.

Speaking outside court, she said she was "over the moon" that she had received "recoginition that I was treated unfairly and unlawfully" by former children's secretary Ed Balls and Haringey Council.
