Police brand teacher 'paedophile of most sickening order'

A primary school teacher has been jailed indefinitely for abusing five girls. Nigel Leat admitted more than 30 offences, his youngest victim was six-years-old.

The charges included attempted rape, 22 of sexual assault and eight of sexual assault by penetration. When Leat was arrested he had 30,500 indecent photographs in his possession.

Det Supt Geoff Wessell, from Avon and Somerset Police, said Leat preyed on the children of his school and abused them in the most sick way.
