Action pledged on slow adoptions in England

Prime Minister David Cameron is promising to take tough action against local authorities in England which fail to deal swiftly with adoption cases.

New league tables show wide variations in how quickly councils find parents to adopt children in their care.

Out of 3,600 children under the age of one in care, only 60 were adopted last year. The BBC's Reeta Chakrabarti reports.
