Madeleine McCann's mother 'violated' by diary publication

Kate McCann, whose daughter Madeleine disappeared in 2007, said she felt "totally violated" when the News of the World published entries from her diary without her permission.

She and her husband Gerry were giving evidence to the judge-led Leveson Inquiry into media practices.

It emerged the diary had been taken by Portuguese police but later returned to the McCann's.
