Alastair Campbell says journalism has become 'putrid'

Tony Blair's director of communications at Downing Street, Alastair Campbell, has accused a small group of journalists of 'besmirching' the whole industry.

Mr. Campbell is giving evidence to the Leveson Inquiry into press standards.

Mr Campbell went on to discuss how 24 hour news and celebrity culture have put a great commercial strain on newspapers.
