Daily Mail denies 'attack' on Milly Dowler's family
Associated Newspapers' barrister has confirmed that a Daily Mail reporter did ask if the Dowler family would repay the £2m of compensation to News International.
It comes after police revealed that they had "no evidence" anyone connected with the News of the World deleted voicemail messages from Milly Dowler's phone.
However, Jonathan Caplan QC told the Leveson Inquiry that the Daily Mail did not approach the Dowler family directly.
