Teen held over Freckleton fire deaths

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the deaths of three young children and their older brother in a house fire in Lancashire.

Reece Smith, 19, four-year-old twins Holly and Ella Smith and two-year-old Jordan Smith died in the fire in Freckleton on Saturday night.

Speaking at the scene, Det Ch Insp Neil Esseen confirmed the fire was being treated as suspicious, and renewed an appeal for information about events at the house that night.
