Severe weather still affecting Heathrow airport

Flights in and out of Heathrow airport are still being affected by the weekend's severe weather as airlines deal with the backlog of cancellations.

BAA has apologised to passengers after it had to cancel 43% of the flights operating out of the airport on Sunday.

Travel editor of the Independent, Simon Calder, told the BBC the problem lies in the fact that Heathrow handles such large amounts of traffic.
