Abu Qatada released: UK courts in 'impossible position'

The radical Muslim preacher Abu Qatada has been released from the top-security Long Lartin prison on strict bail conditions.

He will be allowed to live with his family while it is decided whether or not he should be deported to Jordan, where he faces terrorism charges.

Former Labour home secretary Lord Reid said that British courts had been put in an "impossible position" regarding the radical cleric.
