Virgin plane emergency landing: 15 in hospital

A number of people have been treated for injuries after a Virgin passenger plane bound for Orlando was forced to make an emergency landing at Gatwick Airport.

The Airbus A330-300 aircraft had 13 crew and 299 passengers on board.

David Davis of South East Ambulance Service said a number of people had been treated on the ground.

He said 15 people were taken to hospital, most of them for suspected fractures.
