Dowler family condemn police for phone hacking failures

The family of murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler have criticised police for not investigating phone hacking earlier.

A Metropolitan Police lawyer earlier confirmed there was evidence the teenager's phone was hacked, but could not say for certain that voicemails were deleted.

Lawyer David Sherborne read out a statement on behalf of the Dowler family, at the Leveson inquiry into media ethics.
