Mandelson: Rebekah Brooks had 'manipulative skills'

Lord Mandelson has described former News International chief executive Rebekah Brooks as someone known for her "persistence, charm and manipulative skills".

Speaking at the Leveson inquiry into press ethics, the former cabinet minister acknowledged that some people might think saying that is rich coming from him.

But he said Mrs Brooks is very good at keeping in touch.
