Olympic torchbearer: 'Proudest moment of my life'

Around 20,000 people packed the Pier Head area in front of the Liver Building by the stage on which the cauldron with the Olympic flame was lit.

Iraq war veteran Craig Lundberg, who was blinded whilst on duty five years ago, was the last torchbearer of the day and carried the flame off the ferry across the Mersey.

He told the BBC's Babita Sharma it was the proudest moment of his life and he would be donating his torch to the new Liverpool Museum, as it is "a piece of history".
