William Hague 'saddened' by avalanche deaths in France

Nine climbers have been killed in an avalanche near the French Alpine ski resort of Chamonix.

Those killed were reported to be from the UK, Spain, Germany and Switzerland. Nine other climbers were injured.

The UK Foreign Secretary William Hague has expressed his sympathies to the families of the three Britons killed in an avalanche in a French resort.
